Walking on a collar and lead is an important skill that every
dog must learn. Even the best trained dog should never be taken
outside the home or yard without a sturdy collar and leash. Even
if your dog is trained perfectly to go off lead, accidents and
distractions do happen, and a collar, with proper identification
attached, is the best way to be sure you will get your beloved
companion back.
Of course before you can teach your new puppy to accept a leash,
he or she must first learn to accept ...

It is important for you to train your dog to perform correct
behaviours so that both of you can maintain a happy

boss. If the dog thinks he is higher than you, he will not obey
you and may perhaps even perform aggressive behaviours. The more
that your dog respects you the more likely he will pursue your
wishes.
During your dog's first weeks, how you treat him will impact on
where he sees his place in the family hierarchy. Where your ...

The Bernese Mountain Dog is often affectionately called the "Bernie" by their owners. Although many working dogs are known to have an independent nature, this breed definitely does not fall in that category. They love and seemingly crave family interaction and companionship.
This large, social breed weighs between 80-105 pounds and measure between 23" to 28". Because of their size and energy, they do better in homes with yards rather than apartments. They don't like to be kept inside all the ...

Don't you just hate those pimples popping up when they are least
welcome. Like just before a big date. Or before a major
presentation. It is even worse when the pimples spread all over
your face. I know. I've been there. In fact, it was so bad that
when I went to a doctor with a bad flu, the doctor treated me
for acne instead.
Pimples begin when the pores in your skin get clogged up with
oil, dirt and skin debris. Bacteria happily breeds in that
concoction, infecting that pore, leading to ...

It's a fact that male dogs are normally more aggressive and destructive, particularly in small spaces are the typical characteristics of male dogs as held by some dog keepers. If you want to have dogs that are easier to train and more loving in nature, then you might as well settle for the female dogs, or 'bitches' as they are perceived to have those traits. You just can't generally say that these stereotypes are true and relevant to all since it will still vary from the breed of the dog. ...

keeping your dog looking and feeling great. After all, brushing
isn't for just removing the little nasties that it's fur can
pick up. When you brush your dog once a day it will cut down on
the shedding dramatically and you will also be aware of any coat
or skin problems your pet may have and you may even ...

Dog Obedience Training - Aggressive Dogs.
I do not believe that dogs are born aggressive. There may be exceptions, perhaps where a dog has a tumour or is in constant pain, but generally, an aggressive dog is simply the result of its environment and the owner's ineffective dog obedience training and lack of management in the pup's formative years.
What I mean by that is, if the dog is not to become aggressive to both humans and other dogs. It needs to be properly socialised and trained ...
